Former Agriculture Minister Andrés Felipe Arias has emerged from the Dean's office Faculty of Economics, Catholic University on Wednesday of Holy Week.
The reasons were the constant pressure generated by the students of the Faculty of Law at the University, who complained to the Steering Committee for the Agro Ingreso Seguro scandal that benefited wealthy families and not the Caribbean Coast resource-poor farmers, for whom the program was designed. Faced with such pressure and comments that were generated by the agricultural program, the university chose to insinuate that his association with the faculty would run counter to the image of the Alma Mater, and "Uribito" agreed.
Arias's presence at the Catholic University is not even a year. After teaching and lectures on social and economic development to students of the Faculty of Economics, became its dean, a post he was not even eight months.
However, when asked by Kien & Ke, Arias denied that he had detached from the school and continued in the Dean's office, advising the President of the university and giving some classes. The press officer and marketing director of the school, Natalia Chanaga, said the former minister is not connected to the university.
