Finding Geodes In Stores

Rorschach Blog. Who Watches the Watchmen? (I): Nostalgia (by Veidt)

Nostalgia, What is nostalgia?, In simple terms is the remembrance (sentimental) of a time past, better times, it is placed in opposition to the current time is believed to be worse and longs for that time where everything was simpler and better.

Nostalgia is more own (though not exclusively) of the elderly, children or teenagers do not suffer as much as they do not have much to miss, in fact teens think the opposite, that childhood was stupid and that good is your little mind Of course that comes after the blow of reality that makes the back and realize their stupidity.
Moreover, nostalgia sells, is the third force more selling in the world (second only to violence and sex). In recent years we PRESENCE thousands of remakes and reboots of series, movies, video games, etc. There are the revival of Evangelion, Dagron Ball Z, the revival of Back to the future and here comes the Star Wars, the return Mega Man 8 bits (in fact art pop-contemporary-postmodern "chingon what are the 8-bit) and a long etcetera.
But actually the last time was better?, For Nietzsche if, in the book, The Genealogy of Morals argues that the notion of evolution (such as that which makes us get better) is a blowjob because only the technical and technological improvement (and that half) while the human is becoming more stupid and weak (in every sense of the word). The nostalgia is to resist change, so everything is seen as better, but we have no referte whether X was actually better time to time.
La nostalgia plays a role in Watchmen, as part its plot revolves around the last living heroes of old glories that affect the new heroes as curses, and the same heroic living of his face (in the comic, the law forbade Keene heroes but nostalgia makes them yearn for all the heroic era, there are those who refuse to forget as The Comedian, Ozymandias and Rorschach). Watchmen
displays that feeling from the beginning it is presented as a sequel to an original series nonexistent: Minutemen, where everything was better, where the heroes were accepted and where all this is unthinkable dystopian environment, where good and evil are defined by a mask. All the characters of Watchmen are affiliated in one way or another to the Minutemen either by blood (Silk Spectre I and II), admiration (Nite Owl I & II), affiliation (The Comedian as the only active hero in both groups), contextual spirit (Ozymandias and Rorschach) or by mere accident (Dr. Manhattan .) Yet it is Silk Spectre and Nite Owl where nostalgia is felt more strongly.
Ozymandias (the comic) produces a perfume with that name, as a kind of reminder that everything smells of nostalgia. It is about the nostalgia permeates us.
